The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), State and Local Finance Division has shared the following information with us:
In August 2025, the United States Postal Service (USPS) changed how postmarks are processed — moving from local application to regional sorting centers. This change may impact how property tax payments are dated and received.
What this means for postal customers this tax season (and for Utility Payments too):
- Your postmark dates may no longer reflect the actual day you mailed your payment.
- Mail your property tax payments early to avoid delays - Don't procrastinate.
If you have questions about the timeliness of your payment, please reach out to the town hall.
