Attention: Users Paying Through Their Bank’s Bill Pay Service

Attention: Customers Paying Through Their Bank’s Bill Pay Service
(Unrelated to credit card payments through the Town's payment portal)

If you use your bank’s Online Bill Pay service to pay your utility bill, please be aware: these payments are not electronic. Your bank prints and mails a physical paper check to the Town. This process is subject to postal delays and bank processing times.

Key Facts to Avoid Late Fees:
The "Process Date" is not the "Received Date": While funds may leave your bank account immediately, the Town does not receive the payment until the physical check arrives in our mail.

Arrival Matters:
Payments must be received in our office by the due date to avoid late fees. "Payment sent" screenshots from your bank cannot be used to waive fees.

Plan Ahead:
We strongly recommend scheduling your bank’s bill pay at least 7–10 business days before the due date to ensure timely delivery.

For your Consideration: To guarantee your payment is received on time, consider signing up for automatic withdrawal (ACH). Utility Payments: Automatic Withdrawl (ACH) Available | Town of Ixonia

Additional Food For Thought:

Please Make sure you are sharing relevent information when submitting your payment.

1. Utility Account Number
   - many checks we receive ignore this or contain irreleveant account numbers
2. Name or Company Name the account is listed under
3. Address
   - Many checks we receive only have the name/address of the bank's account holder.
   - If you are making a payment for a business/person/property with an account holder or address different than what is listed on your bank account, we often and up doing a mini investigation to figure out where to apply it.
